1987 VW Cabriolet (click thumbnails for full-sized pictures, use back button to return)

What's that under the cover?

UnderCover.JPG (589062 bytes)

Why, It's a '87 VW Cabriolet that looks like it's been sitting a while... (plates say Toy CR 2 in case you can't read them)

Here are the defects:

Cracks in top

Couple of smallish rust spots

Here's the interior.  Not perfect, but should clean up OK.  Drivers seat has a couple of tears / wear marks.  Seat covers are probably in order.

Other issues: broken hinge on glove box, odometer quit (replaced gauge cluster and that one quit too!), cruise control quit, only a couple of speakers make noise at the moment.  A/C quit too.  All of that stuff worked when we got the car, probably some corrosion on a connector somewhere...

Car has decent CD player and 4 Blaupunkt (I think) speakers.  Bass blockers on rear speakers too.

Car has in the neighborhood of 85,000 miles on it.  Mechanically sound, has had some exhaust work, but hasn't had all of the stuff replaced (occasional rattle from a pipe hitting bottom of car, goes away once it warms up).  Tires are good but not all the same brand.  Replacement locking gas cap should be replaced with a stock one for appearance sake.
